ThemeLounge #56 – Out
Hi, everybody! Sorry, didn’t mean to sneak OUT on you there. We know it’s been a while since we did a show, and we do feel truly bad about it. There’s nothing specific that’s been going on to keep us from the show….it’s just that it’s been really hard lately to get organized and focused and stick to our schedule. But we did manage to get this one cranked OUT, and we do have another one coming soon. Not next week exactly, but soon.
And what will be the theme for that next show? Well, actually, it’ll be a secret. No wait, that’s not right — the theme will actually be…Secret! So many possibilities, right? Well, don’t keep your great song suggestions a Secret — we need your input for this one! Send those song ideas via e-mail to the address shown at right, post a comment right here on the blog, or leave us a message at 206-202-LOUNGE!

Million Dollar Secret – Valerie Wellington

Pat,
Are you kidding me? You didn’t know that “Time Out Of Mind” was a drug song? I had heard long ago that it was about heroin, and this entry in Wikipedia confirmed it. By the way, Steely Dan performed it in concert this summer, and it was great to hear live.
The only “secret” song that I know is Secret World by Peter Gabriel, which, by the way is the title song of an excellent concert DVD which came out in the mid-nineties. This performance really shows Gabriel at his best, and, because of the video, the song “Secret World” became one of my favorites on the DVD.
Thanks again for your podcast.

Pat & Alex:
It is so GREAT to have you back!! Absence does make the heart grow fonder. I really missed my ThemeLounge fix.
Only two tunes come to mind for the Secret ‘cast: Do You Want To Know a Secret? by the Beatles, and Secret Agent Man by Johnny Rivers (or possibly the Blues Traveler cover?)

Glad you guys are back! I’ve been listening for over a year now and really missed my ThemeLounge. Alex, when are you getting your own podcast? At the very least, you should post the top five bands you listen to! People care, and think your music rocks!
And ‘secret’, I’m with the Pete Gabriel song, it’s very beautiful.

Is there anyone out there? Anyone else still lurking, waiting and waiting with fingers crossed for the return of their favorite podcast?????
By Erik on 10.31.08 7:19 AM
Another anxious lurker here, contemplating the sadness of a universe without another ThemeLounge.

Erik & Missy (and anybody else lurking…) – it’s pretty amazing to see that you’re such loyal listeners, still checking back for signs of life. I’m very sorry to have let the show go dormant; creating new ThemeLounge episodes was always an exquisite pleasure. Various things have just gotten in the way over the last year-plus. I won’t bore you with my tribulations….we’ve all got problems.
Here’s what I can tell you: there WILL be at least one more episode. It’s already half in the can, so I might as well complete it and let you enjoy it. No promises on when it’ll appear – how about within the next month?
As far as new episodes beyond that, Alex and I would very much like to resume production…but we just need to find the time. It’s less than a year ’til he leaves for college, so we’d better get crackin’ if we’re gonna do it!
Thanks again for your continued interest…it really is quite a mood-booster.

College? Wasn’t he in elementary school when you started this??
WE WANT MORE THEMELOUNGE!!!!!
